With the appointment of James Fox as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, Basin Industries is accelerating a national acquisition strategy designed to expand both our geographic reach and the range of solutions we provide to customers.
James will lead our mergers and acquisitions efforts as we seek partnerships with established industrial packaging, material handling and related manufacturing businesses through the United States.
Building a broader national platform
Basin Industries has grown into an integrated provider of custom material handling and industrial packaging solutions, with capabilities spanning steel, aluminum, wood, plastic and corrugated materials.
Our next phase of growth is about building on that foundation.
Geographically, we see significant opportunities to establish and strengthen Basin operations in markets across the United States. A broader manufacturing footprint can bring us closer to customers, improve responsiveness and create opportunities for our businesses to serve customers across multiple regions.
But geographic expansion is only part of the strategy.
We are also looking for businesses that bring complementary products, services, manufacturing capabilities and expertise to the Basin Industries platform. By broadening what we can offer, we can become a more valuable partner to customers looking for integrated solutions to increasingly complex material handling, packaging, manufacturing and supply chain challenges.
The goal is not growth simply for the sake of becoming larger. We want to build a stronger network of specialized businesses that can share resources, expertise and opportunities while continuing to deliver the service and craftsmanship that made each company successful in the first place.
Finding the right businesses—and respecting what made them successful
For business owners considering an acquisition partner, the right fit involves much more than the terms of a transaction.
Companies are built through years—often decades—of investment in employees, customer relationships, reputations and communities. Basin Industries wants to partner with owners who care about what happens to those things after a transaction.
As James explained in announcing his appointment, Basin’s objective is to welcome great businesses and talented teams while respecting the foundations that made those organizations successful.
That philosophy will be central to our acquisition strategy. We are looking for companies where Basin can provide additional resources, support and growth opportunities without losing sight of the people, relationships and legacies already in place.
Experience performing under pressure
James brings more than two decades of leadership experience across the automotive, technology and investment sectors, including senior roles focused on scaling organizations and bringing ambitious growth strategies to life.
He also brings a decidedly different kind of experience to the role: a past career as a professional racecar driver.
While the racetrack and the boardroom may seem far apart, both demand many of the same qualities. Success requires preparation, rapid decision-making, adaptability and an ability to manage multiple variables while remaining focused under pressure.
In racing, conditions change quickly. Drivers have to process new information, understand risk, trust the people around them and make decisions without losing sight of the ultimate objective. James brings that experience alongside an extensive business career that has required many of the same skills.
That combination of strategic thinking, operational experience and comfort working in fast-moving environments will be valuable as Basin evaluates opportunities across the country and works with business owners to determine how their companies can fit within a growing national platform.
Looking for our next partners
Basin Industries is actively seeking acquisition opportunities with industrial packaging, material handling and related manufacturing companies throughout the United States.
We are particularly interested in strong businesses with talented teams, established customer relationships and capabilities that can complement or expand what the Basin Industries platform offers today.
Whether you are considering a full sale, developing a succession plan or exploring a strategic partnership, we welcome the opportunity to start a confidential conversation.
As Basin Industries continues to grow, our vision is straightforward: expand our reach, broaden our capabilities and bring together great businesses that can accomplish more as part of a national platform—while preserving the people, expertise and legacies that made them worth partnering with in the first place.
